Punk Problems

Atari Punk Console

Punk Problems is an Atari Punk Console synthesizer designed from two 555 timer chips. This APC features one control voltage in port. The APC is a popular beginners synthesizer to build with a relatively easy circuit.

The circuit for the APC was modeled in TiNA Ti Spice software.

A guitar pedal case was used to house the electronics of the synthesizer. The front and back of the case were modeled as flat panels to provide a guide for drilling holes.

The wood case was constructed freehand using only a Japanese pull saw, wood glue, and tiny nails. Once constructed, the wood frame was stained.

A label for the front panel was created in Adobe Photoshop. The label was printed, laminated, and glued to the case using a rubber cement.
